Some background

The launch of the South Africa / Angola Chamber of Commerce (SAACC) on the 18th of March this year, proved to be an unmitigated success when some 250 delegates from Luanda and all over South Africa responded with enthusiasm to the invitation.

Group Five’s marketing and business development manager, Greg Heale, who is a member of the executive committee made the following statement: “We were overwhelmed by the success of the launch, which is an indication of the positive sentiment with which South African businesses view post-war Angola.”
He added that the benefits to members wanting to travel to Angola will become considerable as the Chamber evolves.

Greg, together with Piet Martins, Managing Director of Group Five Angola, has been involved with the formation of the SAACC from its early days.
The executive committee comprises an impressive list of representatives from a large cross-section of businesses including Nedcor, African Banking Corporation, Bongani Investments & Consultants and the International Trade Bureau.

“As an added bonus, Piet Martins is making his offices in Luanda available to members of the SAACC on a commercial basis when they visit the city” says Greg, “ giving them a home from home”.

With over two years experience working in Luanda on the Nova Vida housing contract and subsequent projects, Piet and his team have a wealth of information at their fingertips, which will be of inestimable value to prospective businessmen and women.
